Stages • years of training and travel as a gas station attendant, dressman, autopsy assistant, hotel bus cook, scenery maker and antique dealer, moved to Munich in the 70s to dedicate himself to comic painting and drawing, author of comic and cartoon volumes, satirical city guides and non-fiction books, theoretical works and books that do not fit in any category 

Awards • German Cartoon Prize 2004/2010/2014, Sondermann Prize of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2005, Göttinger Elch (Göttingen Moose) 2015, Lead Award 2016, Prize Ernst Hoferichter 2020  

Exhibitions • over 120 solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums, e.g. Cartoonmuseum Basel, Wilhelm Busch-Museum Hannover, Caricatura Museum Frankfurt, Karikaturmuseum Krems, Gulbransson Museum Tegernsee, Goethe Institut Istanbul, Instituto Cervantes Quito/Ecuador, Centre Pompidou Paris, Museum Buchheim Bernried on Lake Starnberg  

Commissions • regular contributor to the satirical magazine "Titanic", numerous articles for magazines and newspapers, such as STERN, Süddeutsche Zeitung, FAZ, SPIEGEL, and many others; screenwriting and equipment work for television; more than 45 book publications, among others in collaboration with Harry Rowohlt, Thomas Gsella and Hans Zippert
